Telegraph Cove, B.C. - February 15, 2021 "Art: No longer just for walls!" is the catch phrase for a new business in town! Award winning renowned wood artist Don Bastian creates unique, live edge tables, doors, furniture, carvings, sculptures and much more at the Telegraph Cove Art Gallery - a business they built and opened in 2020.

Unique live edge tables, doors, furniture, master carvings and sculptures are all created by hand, one at a time and is showcased online and in store. https://www.donbastian.com

Hailing from Pincher Creek, Alberta, Don Bastian spent childhood summers on the West Coast, where he became captivated by its' beauty and dreamed of relocating to its' shores. For Don, the West Coast had it all, the mystic of his beloved mountains, the ever changing coast lines, driftwood treasures delivered daily from the sea and the largest trees in the world to inspire his love of art and woodwork.

Giving into his love of the West Coast Don now resides on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia Canada. With a background from the Alberta College of Art, it was natural for Don to mix his carpentry skills, experience as a retail display carpenter for the Hudson Bay Company, with his love of art. For several years Don and his wife Denise owned and operated the fabled West Coast Wood Designs Gallery in Sidney, B.C. They have since relocated to Telegraph Cove, on the Northern tip of Vancouver Island, building and opening the Telegraph Cove Art Gallery.

Don has given presentations and demonstrations for several classrooms, art associations and non-profit organizations. Reach out to him if this is something you're invested in learning more about!
